JOB DESCRIPTION:
Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Budget Analyst at our office in Greenbelt, MD to support the Operation and Finance team and be a key member of the Asphalt team. The Budget Analyst’s job duties will include:
  • Supporting the management of the department’s business and accounting systems, policies, and processes within Holcim procedures and financial policies.
  • Ensuring that all financial transactions for the department are processed appropriately, under the supervision of the manager of finance and administration.
  • Overseeing processes/issues contracts, purchase orders, vendor invoices; assigning appropriate cost codes; and ensuring work-flow processes flow smoothly.
  • Monitoring the budget spending in whole and per area to ensure it is within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed. This includes allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities.
  • Analyzing business information (e.g., labor and non-labor expenditures, utility expenses, inventory management, cost projections, etc.) to provide support, and recommendations to the operation team
  • Preparing financial and budget tracking reports for each plant.
  • Working within Facilities to re-engineer systems, processes, and procedures to improve financial reporting and streamline workflows.
  • Supporting compliance with risk management, legal, financial requirements within established timeframes
  • Demonstrating a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Note, this position does not require travel.
REQUIREMENTS:
The position of Budget Analyst requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely-related field, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, as a Management/Operations/Business Analyst, or in a related business analysis role. The position requires the following number of years of experience with each of the following:
  • 2 years: Conducting financial analysis activities, including reading and creating financial statements (including Balance Sheets and P/L statements)
  • 2 years: Conducting inventory management and supply chain management
  • 2 years: SAP, Microsoft Office Applications, VLOOKUP, PivotTable, and VBA in Excel
  • 1 year: Conducting purchase order management, overseeing product management processes, and overseeing implementation methods.
  • 1 year: Conducting risk management and contract management
  • 1 year: Working with plants/warehouses and retail/wholesale businesses
  • 1 year: Applying supply-demand and production procedures.
